To Aru Kagaku no Railgun – 07

Wooo! A railgun episode with actuall plot… How strange…

Actually for a while now I have been wanting to smash my head into a wall because of all the foreshadowing in the previous episodes about the Level-Upper and stuff.

And that Idiot SPOON-BOMBER really should get a brain and try to blow up some of the guys who are beating him up, instead of trying to kill Judgement.

Anyway, Touma’s magic image-breaker hand saves the day again by naturalizing the explosion. Yay, good for him. And not wanting any fame for it either.

But don’t you think anti-skill and judgement are a little stupid?

1) They have someone there, inside the mall but stupid Kuroko did not want her to help evacuate the people.

2) After evacuating all the people from the building, all the people were standing within a few yards of the building. What if the building had collapsed? It would have fallen on all the stupid people. They have no idea how strong the bomb is anyway, it could take out a whole city sector.

3) If you have tried looking in the database and can’t find any matches don’t repeat the same search over again WIDEN THE SEARCH idiots. Especially when there are rumors about a “Level-Upper” floating around.

  1. Hmmm,

    1) They just bit onto the lead that the perp is out to get Judgements, so the people in the mall are really safer with Uihara out of the way instead of with Uihara in the mall, evacuating them. Besides, I’m sure Kuroko was worried sick about Uihara. What’s more questionable is why she didn’t try to call a second time ๐Ÿ˜›

    2) Well, that may not be a fair point. The Judgement had confirmed the method of bombing (gravitational manipulation), and had good intel on the ability in question in their hands. They probably know exactly what the ability is capable of (that you couldn’t blow a city sector with it, for eg.). Sure enough, a level > 4 dude at maximum power output only did that much damage ๐Ÿ™‚

    3) It didn’t strike me that they were repeating searches, I thought they were doing random extra searches, and referring back to their data to try to come up with a correlation. And well, I guess its not fair to expect them to take a level-upper seriously if it really is just a random legend. You won’t expect the local police to take the possibility of a floating ghost-murderer seriously too even if, supposing, there was talk of one being around. It DID take them kind of long to make that key connection though =/

  2. On 2 and 3. I’m more interested in how they assign levels. I mean we all know that everyones power is different so what differentiates between a level 3 and a level 4. In one of the episodes we see Misaka railgun a coin over the pool and they give her some readout determining her level. Thus it stands to reason that an esper could quite possibly fake their level depending on how much power they put in. Truthfully I would have been investigating anyone who had the graviton ability as that would have narrowed it down enough to find out who’s crazy and doesn’t have an alibi. For a city supposedly full of geniuses they sure have some pretty silly approaches.

I can understand having espers as a powerful backup but shouldn’t they leave the investigating to the people trained to investigate. Then again, it wouldn’t be as fun of a story and our hero’s wouldn’t be the ones figuring things out.

Toma is so much more heroic in this then he is in his own series XP.
